goals planner with scissors and paper clips

What a pleasure it was to select the perfect 2023 weekly planner online. My mail carrier heedlessly smashed the package into my mailbox, but the planner inside turned out to be fine. Beautiful, in fact. I have always loved notebooks and such, as well as organizational methods. I have been enjoying planning out the details of my week this week. And I get to do this 51 more times this year! What a treat. But why do some calendars start on Sunday and some on Monday? Isn’t that unnecessarily confusing in objects that, after all, are designed to make things easier on our brains?

My New Year’s resolutions this year are all about health. Mind, body, spirit. At the beginning of my planner is a section for listing yearly goals, and I have a long list. Exercise more. Eat better. Increase my brain functionality in a variety of ways. Meditate more. Start doing some of the things I have not been able to do the past few years. Make progress slowly. Embrace imperfection. Express gratitude. Write. I also wrote down six concrete goals that are a real stretch, that might not actually happen in 2023 but that I’m working toward. What are some of your New Year’s resolutions?
